I might need to own this book. This copy is from the library.

Finally, an author that puts you in a twist, then you yell "ah ha", and then the author says nope, not finished yet, and twists again.

Getting lost in the story. It's nice when it happens.

Little bit of a rough start, but it smoothed out and found a pace.

Dear book - I might have been able to finish you today, but we're on a break.

I wouldn't say the twist here was entirely predictable, but it was unsurprising. I want more from a twist, something that makes me literally say HA out loud and laugh at the surprise of it. It propels the story forward better when you really had no idea it was coming.

Victoria makes good sentences, draws your imagination into a scene, develops the personalities of the characters, and yet this story is going predictably and nowhere at the same time. Argh!

Losing patience with this section. Just talking forever about a love triad.

Lots of royals and magic, but I'm still more interested in what happened to the first character at the start of the book that still hasn't been brought back into the story.

Wondering what's up with the first character that was introduced. Left me in suspense and haven't returned!

Only spent 15 min on this so far and Veronica hooked me in already. What's next?

OK, I'll backtrack on my previous annoyance. There's conflict between religions in the story.

This reads like just a timeline of events. If I had to write a school report about the conflict or a villain that leads to climax and resolution, I don't think I could identify them. I'd fail.

I'm bored. This story is off the rails.
