“There is no better time than two in the afternoon”

I found “The Escape” to be quite ominous since I’ve just finished writing a short story with the same image at the end. Nevertheless one of my favourites so far.

The first two stories in the collection, “The Triumph” and “Obsession” are thematically quite similar. The former was the shorter but somehow provided more insight into the relationship between the main character and her lover. The second one was longer, but somehow more shallow; promising beginning, poor delivery.

I feel like I am stuck in the “the story time” bits of a buzzy self help book.
