That's it, I am officially DNFing this. I'm so bored, it is sooo slow, the missing cases are very meh and the whole self-hating thing - even though given somewhat convincingly - is just too old and too tiring and it brings everybody down. I love these two guys together, but I wish them well cos, I'm out.

Whilst I'm loving Valor and Doyle even more than the previous books as well as the case Valor is working on, I have a problem with Valor new partner and junior detective. I understand being young and wanting to prove yourself and the challenges with being different, but it's grating the level of disrespect and also the need for Valor to cater to her especially in a situation that involves the safety of people lives.

I already feel like I’m going to throw up. I know my soul is about to be ripped out of my body. I’m not okay. Let’s do this😩😭

The investigation is so interesting in this one! Aslan and Quaid’s dynamic is still amazing, I love them so much. This series is so so so good, I can’t recommend it enough!!
