The writing does make sense now that I look at this book as a memoir.

It's done, but is it?

I don't know how to rate it. Yes, innovative concept, interesting writing, but it kept me on the edge forever, almost no sleep, stomach tight in knots. No what I could call a leisurely reading.

shouldn't revenge bring, at least, a small amount of satisfaction? It's all cruelty, regardless if it is badly cloaked as justice.

Good lawd, it's like reading a manual. To the point, please! I've had one yummy, awww scene and the rest is skim, skim, skim.

This blurb doesn't match the book. I keep waiting for something slavery related to happen and I'm getting this daily snapshot of some high school kid's life. WTH.

This book is going to make me nervous the whole time I'm reading it!

I blinked and I was halfway through the story. The typos aren't even bothering me too much. Fascinating premise indeed.

I'm over my initial wariness. I enjoyed the chapter about how slavery came to be, and being a big fan of the book 1984, I can totally see it happening like that.

Feeling a bit hesitant to continue. I don't mind dark, or even taboo topics (like rape or incest,) but I draw the line at pedophilia.
