The version I'm reading is a massive two volume set. I just finished volume 1. As much I want to hate this book, every time I get bored, Stekel says something interesting and weird.

"He was in love with his hands as a child. The hands were to him something alive. As if they were persons. He often thought he would like to go into the forest. Then he would be a bear and eat up his own hands. He often bit and sucked at his hands."

I was trying to find something to read. Maybe a light novel. But nothing was grabbing me. Then I noticed this two volume book on psychoanalysis of sadism and masochism published in 1939. Perfect...?
