I'm on the verge of giving up this book.

1. She's in her uncle's house. Why is she laying in a nighty asleep on the couch in the middle of the day?
2. WHY IN THE HECK DIDNTHEY KIDNAP HER? WHY DO THEY THINK THISBIS A GOOD IDEA?
3. What even is this book?

Still don't care for any of the depictions of Teri here. And it swears a bit more than I care for. We'll see how this goes.

It starts out pretty good, but how Dirk treats Teri (slapping her because she's still mourning, scolding her for being sad about her dead husband, than instantly having sex with her on the beach not two minutes later) is ridiculous and awful. Like, what the crap? What girl would think that's okay? Probably drops a star just for that.

Been ages since I have read Dirk Pitt. He puts Bond to shame. 30 or so pages in, meets a woman on a beach in the middle of nowhere.

"Hey."
"Hey."
"My husband died 8 years ago."
"You should get over that."
"Yeah."
"When's the last time you were with a man."
Sex ensues afterwards.
