listening to the first half of the intro (gosh, james o-brien is a charismatic speaker) & what shocks me is how politics has truly changed — multiple politicians & mps consistently breaking rules, arguing / downplaying bureaucracy, lying and committing crimes but yet, nothing ever happens to them. they still remain wealthy, influential and powerful. wealth, media and politics are the unholy trinity of corruption.

A difficult read. Maybe because I listen to James all the time and the writing is beyond familiar!? Perhaps it’s because the chapters are very long. So many words I don’t understand too. Also very depressing :D

Following the chapter on David Cameron is one on Jeremy Corbyn. Both chapters are jaw dropping.

I’m back with this book. Before the election I couldn’t return to it as it made me too distressed. Now I have learned about David Cameron and the permanent adolescent public school boys.

This audiobook feels like someone shouting old news at you for 10 hours straight

Having to pause my reading of this but honestly, I think it's a must read. What I have read so far is an alarming demonstration of how insidious and far ranging government and private influences have spread, more so recently but also stretching much further back than I anticipated. It's a damning incitement into our current government.

Just finished Nigel Farage chapter. The next one is David Cameron. I am continuing to put space between each chapter hence the length of time it’s taking me to complete the book.
