Loving it so far. The Carl Sagan fanatic in me ensures I will not be having an unbiased opinion on this book, but idgaf!! I am a romantic and i love his ethos on stars and space and love (maybe not so in practice, i know that bitch a cheatin ho!). I am drawn by the way he describes science and physics with so much tenderness

And anw, there rlly is smth about books that understand what loneliness feels like

This novel is so “of the time” but always in the weirdest possible ways like you do not need to dedicate a whole page to explaining how the one Muslim character is “a fierce opponent of the more conventional Muslim concept of jihad”!! Wtf does Carl Sagan know about “conventional” Muslim concepts 😭😭 bad enough that his fmc doesn’t even pass the bechdel test but this is getting a bit much
