Status Updates From Veniss Underground

I've finished the original novel at this point, and the rest of the book is short stories and a novella in the same universe. The novel was bleak, dirty, grotesque, surreal, and full of life and death. It was, as has been said before, a journey through a personal hell of sorts and back. Much of it is underground, which seems to be one of Jeff Vandermeer's things. I dig it!
