In the book The beckoners, the second main character, Rebecca shows a theme of popular=loneliness. It is because even if you are popular, you don't have real friends you can hang out with. In the book, even if Rebecca is the most popular girl, she have no real best friend to hang out with outside of school. However, Zoe, the main character in the book beckoners has a best friend she can hang out with.

Rebecca in Beckoners reminded me of MacKenzie inDork Diaries because Rebecca is the most popular, the queen of her grade. MacKenzie is the queen of her grade too. However, Rebecca is also the most violent one, but she is very lonely too. MacKenzie in Dork dairies has tons of friends, and is not a bit lonely. I think that those two character are somewhat alike and somewhat not alike.
