Oh make up your mind already. You either trust Nikolai or not. Enough with the wavering between the two.

So far the story is going in circles.
Paranormal element - 1%.
Mystery/suspense - 10% (maybe).
Romance - 0%.
Character(s) study - 50%.
Self loathing - 39%.
General assholery from all directions - way over the top.
I am afraid to do word count for "shaman" and "con".
I can't say the story is tiresome yet, but it's getting there :/

If this author uses the phrase "I'm a shaman" one more time in this novel, I may scream.

Well, there is a glossary of Yiddish, Spanish, and cop/military terms at the back of the book. Helpful if you are reading a paperback but ebook, not so much.

I admit that I was pretty absorbed with the way Adelman dealt with that woman whose husband was killed. So this status is for both my friends who dislike it (eyeing Lada and Evil Cat) -- I might end up disagreeing ^^

I actually found Adelman (so far) to be highly amusing (look at my friend Irene -- "SORRY IRENE!)

Author's. Please stop using foreign languages without telling us what it means. When I can use Kindle's "translate" feature it's merely irritating. In this case entire sentences in Yiddish is starting to piss me off.
