oooh this book is sooo much better than i remember from 29 years ago! its so cool looking at 1991 star trek canon versus 2026 star trek canon. i've got another star trek novel lined up next featuring a borg invasion, which i am also rereading after 20 years! what a treat this is turning out to be! blessings!

ok first of all this author gets the character of guinan his characterization of her is flawless. i found out i do not enjoy chapter long holodeck sequences that could have been a paragraph, lol but it was donquixote so no penalty to stars. great book so far! commander shelby canonically has blonde hair not red, rude! ;)

oh wow! reading this reminds me that in the 90s in aol chatrooms, this book was somewhat scandalous! the borg cubes are almost as big as planets because it was written before canon showed them to just be big ol' spaceships a few miles per side, plus the borg here are pretty violent in hand to hand. its great so far and what a feeling to revisit a great book from my teens in my mid 40s!
