Status Updates From The Best of Randall Garrett

It is interesting to see what changes SF has had since Garrett was a top SF author. It's easy to see the cigarettes on space ships (or when aliens had their own type of cigarettes). He wrote a lot of Campbell loved style of Psi stories. But damning of the times is how women weren't part of his stories.

It is interesting to read a book with so many SF stories from a top author of his time (better known for his Lord Darcey series). Predicting desk videophones is one thing, but avoiding cliched women's roles by having lots of stories with no women at all is something else.
