I’m so glad old man Micky Andreno is featured again. I liked him from that time with Clara Rinker, he hasn’t changed much. He’s still a riot!!

Anyone else hate that stupid-ass fuckin’ Marilyn Monroe quote that Goodreads circulates? It’s unbelievably asinine and out of touch. My gods, the woman was beautiful but hardly an intellectual guiding light. She was in several utterly shit films, died grew infamous from her flagrant association with the Kennedys and suddenly she’s a fucking American light tower guiding us in from the cultural storm?

Reading this aforementionedly-vandalized copy of this novel is actually turning out to be kind of hilarious, like an edited-for-tv version of a Davenport novel for USA in the late 90s but with brutal murder. It’s very neurotic in a uniquely American fashion—cold graphic murders of man and beast are fine, but God forbid someone say “blowjob”.

So I open my just-bought used copy of this and some fuckin’ neurotic old shrinking violet literally crossed out EVERY curse word (of which there are many) with a blue ballpoint pen. What the FUCK, Tucson?

Started the new year with my old friend Lucas Davenport!

Another excellent Prey novel. Reading about Lucas Davenport's adventures just never gets boring.

Love John Sanford's novels. In fact I've just started rereading his Prey novels, some in fact for the third time! I don't know how he keeps them so interesting. Most authors get boring after the 4th or 5th time novel!

So far so good. Love Lucas.

I'm listening to the audiobook this time around and enjoying it even more than the first time I read it. The narrator's voice is perfect for this series.

Thoroughly enjoying the fact that csi was discredited. instantly made me think of Miami. Insert cheesy pun, sunglasses on, "YEAAAH". Thanks john sandford. I don't like how Lucas doesn't have one of his hombre, because del was shot, and Sloan never transfered. oh Well.

Still on chapter 2 but I can't wait to finish this book <3

Geeze, I think I've read this one before, too. It's stirring vague memories.

Read this in one night. Have to read everything in my genre. Can do a whole lot worse than Sandford, who has a great formula down pat. Great characters here, but a little sloppy at the end, letting one off the hook when his normal police work would have exposed her. But ignoring that, a very satisfactory read, can really keep the tension going. Figure out what he does and try to copy it, you'll make millions.

Good sitting by the pool summer read. Can't put it down.
