Book moves at decent pace. Long and dreadful section discussing drill’s descent through Earth’s crust. Prehistoric critters satisfyingly frightening, protagonist and side characters likable. Beautiful scenery, vivid imagery. Funny explanations of implausible physics. Not enough fight scenes to suit me yet. Book taking too long to get to the good stuff, maybe because I’ve read it before. Forcing self to read.
