Midday
Crystalline sunlight, all the dark humours blown away by the wind. The crocuses open quickly, bright yellow petals spread wide open at noon.
The purple and white in the shadows. The snowdrops are out; and before the sun disappears round the house the first daffodil has opened.
Spring comes despite the scorching gales which boil the leaves of daffodils like spinach…

Llego tarde pero febrero me gustó mucho. me da envidia su memoria, su capacidad de transformar la tristeza y su compromiso con su jardín.

Tricoteuses (French for "knitting women") were politically active working-class women during the French Revolution (1789–1799) known for attending public executions at the guillotine while knitting. They were staunch supporters of the Jacobins, often knitting red liberty caps (bonnets de la Liberté) and embodying the fervor of the Reign of Terror.
