Status Updates From Meditations

I didn’t realise that so much of what I’ve often heard is a “good mindset” is rooted in stoicism. It’s a bit bleak. At the moment the book mostly emphasises cracking on regardless of your emotions or other people. Bit of a lonely existence.

I can see why this is a popular read among soldiers in WWI. The ruminations of a conquering Roman emperor, on death, legacy, doing the right thing (“following nature”), fame. Very interesting.
