Status Updates From Head Games (Pretty Tough, #3)

Overall I thought this book was pretty good. It didn't have that strong of a plot and you could predict the ending how she would end up with the nice boy and win the basketball game. I thought it was a entertaining novel and would definitely read books similar but maybe with a better plot.

"Kylie's back." (267) I'm really happy that Taylor said this because now her and Kylie's friendship is back. They had a meaningful friendship before all the boy drama happened and I think it's amazing that they were able to overcome it and be friends again. Hopefully this drama will never Happen again with other boys, but I doubt it will because they have learned from their mistakes.

"We're a team Tamika, we can't just turn our backs on a teammate"(245) That was really courageous and generous of Taylor to say. Standing up for Kylie even though they're in a huge fight was Important because it showed she's mature and can put the past behind her and try to fix and make it better. In this situation, Taylor is the bigger person and will be honored for that.

I think it's very mature of Taylor to push herself hard. On page 204 she says "I mean there's always that point in practice where you want to quit but you force yourself to cross your limit.." This is mature because she's showing that she really cares about her basketball career. It also shows that she will put in all the effort even if she has to suffer to not lose the game again to Richland High School.

When Taylor is walking home from school she sees Matt is following her and says, "No offense but, If you have a buss or Violet to catch, you should probably just go ahead and do that."(195) At first I thought that was rude of Taylor to say but I then realized she has a reason to be mad at him because of the boy's game their playing. I think Taylor said the right thing.

I feel bad for Taylor, she had such a bad day. On page 174 she says, "I try to slap a smile onto my face, but my patience is seriously depleted-today was just ridiculously Insane." She finds out the boys basketball team are using them as a game and she doesn't think Zach really likes her when she was falling for him. Then Kylie insulted Taylor when they were supposed to be complementing each other as team bonding.

I liked the part of the novel when the team had bonding time. They were able to get along after putting their problems to the side which shows they care about each other. Once the team can fully trust each other again, their level of playing will get better because they can work together.

I didn't think it was nice of Kylie and Tamika to pie Taylor's face and pour shaving cream all over her 10 minutes before her very important game. This game has many recruits coming to it and she now only has 10 minutes to fix herself up or this event could jeopardize her future in basketball. Kylie should've waited until after the game as payback for "stealing" Zach from her.

I thought it was very smart of Tamika when she thought of the no boys plan. It's smart because now the team can focus on basketball and not be affected by the outside drama that carries in from all the boys at their school. But I feel bad for Taylor because she's now not allowed to be with Zach after she finally got her chance. I have a feeling in the end, Kylie will forgive Taylor and she'll get to be with Zach.

The main Maine character Taylor again, reminds me of myself. She had done something wrong and right afterwards regrets it and wants to take it back. I do they same thing and apologize as soon as I can because I hate living with the guilt. Taylor's friend told her to not say sorry but she still did it anyway. I would've done what she did too and say I was sorry so they knew I cared

If I was Taylor at this point I would not care about Kylie. She had already broken up with Zach and they aren't dating anymore. This means that she can't get mad at Taylor if she likes him and goes out with him. If I was Taylor I would try to improve my relationship with Zach and get something started. Taylor shouldn't have to be so nervous all the time.

I don't like the character Kylie. I don't like her because she is very controlling. She thinks that because she and her ex-boyfriend have broken up no one can like him. Also she is on Taylor's basketball team and depending on her mood, she'll have a very good game or a bad one. That isn't very considerate of her because she's only thinking about herself and not how she affects the team.
