Enjoying but sometimes dense and confusing

I just started this book and am enjoying it, but often get derailed by his stream of consciousness tirades. I’m going to take this one a little at a time and see if that helps me fully absorb the material.

reading henry miller is so weird because he's just awful and terrible and you're like "ew I hate you shut up" and then randomly there'll be a sentence that describes exactly how you feel and now you have to question if you're also awful and terrible
