Stuck in another drawn out, multi chapter family meeting. This is getting painful.

This book had potential. It's got 4 women and 2 men as the main characters and after every small little thing there's a 2 chapter "family meeting" where they sit around and take shots at each other or painstakingly rehash all the things we've already witnessed. It's tiresome and drags. I want to get to know the other people more. I want more interesting things to *happen* not just discussed.

Ms. Hake decided to take 3 chapters in the middle of the book to have her characters painstakingly retell the entire plot to another character. Look, we've already read what's going on. We don't need to reread it through a retelling to someone else. Just summarize. Just skip over it. It's not interesting, it's exhausting. The book up to this point was really good and held my attention until now.
