The third story was technically pretty decent. It worked for me more in the second half than the first.

The face blindness made this third story memorable - that and the heroine's dick pic collection - but I'm not any more of a fan of it now than I was when I first read it. It has a weird emotional distance to it.

"Some of my first subjects were the men I dated. And since I had lost about thirty pounds after the accident, I dated a lot."

Just like in the previous story, 30 pounds is apparently the magic sexiness number for women. Gain 30 pounds and you're unsexy. Lose 30 pounds and men drool over you.

Hm. End of the second story. Not really to my taste. It did a better job on relationship progression than the first story, but it was still heavy on the sex and really light on discussions about other stuff that I felt needed to be discussed. And I'm still annoyed about that call Nick made to Delia's radio show.

Okay, Nick calling into her show to flirt with her was inappropriate, and Delia should have cut him off and had a talk with him later. Her job involves talking about sex-related topics on her radio show. She already made it clear to him that mixing her work and private life was not something she considered sexy. Plus there's the issue of professionalism.

"And she was one of those rare women who could probably load on an extra thirty pounds and still look sexy."

WTF. Big wince at this.

I've started Liz Carlyle's story and don't even feel a twinge of recognition. I know I've previously read the first and third stories in this, so I assume I read the second one too, but it feels like I'm going into it for the first time.

End of the first story. This only works on an entirely fantasy level. The premise is cringey, it's blatant instalove 100% built on the fantasy of "hot dude finds ordinary woman irresistible", and there's zero concern about how their relationship will actually work once they're off the island. I still like the flow of Kenyon's writing, but there's a reason why I prefer her paranormal romances.

Just one page ago, Marianne mentioned the scratchy sand, so I'd assume that the practical issues of having sex on the beach would have occurred to the author, but it looks like they're going to do it anyway.

Eww. I know some people find foot stuff in sex scenes to be sexy, but this is just grossing me out. I'd skim this bit, but unfortunately they're simultaneously having a conversation. Must focus on the dialogue and somehow block out the action.

I'm doing so well on my book offloading goal that it's making me want to do even better. I bought this back when Sherrilyn Kenyon was one of my favorite authors. I don't really read her stuff much anymore, though, and I recall the story in this book not being one of my favorites even back then. I don't remember a thing about Carlyle's story, and I recall Camden's not working for me at all. Could be an easy offload.
