Status Updates From The Same River Twice

I'm enjoying learning the background for the film and how Alice gives us glimpses into her own doubts/reservations about the film.

I'm loving the insight of Alice Walker's experience dealing with the criticism of The Color Purple...I wonder if she is reliving these with the recent version of the film.
