I started this book 6 years ago but put it down due to its incredibly dry nature. Falling more into the camp of PhD thesis than entertainment, I decided it wasn't what I needed and passed the book on. Now, 6 years down the road I feel that the minutiae of this approach to the electronic side of musicology has more value to me... As long as the Adorno worship is kept to a minimum, things will be just fine.

Proper good techie reading for those with a love of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. It is very dry, but then with all that tech equipments around it would need to be. Safety first!

It's fair to say this book has the highest of brows - "synchretic acoumêtre" anyone? - and large swathes of it wouldn't be out of place In Pseud's Corner. It is a lot more interesting, and easier to read, than this would suggest though so on I go.
