Book One, The Man of Property (finished February 13, 2026):
This was hard to put down! There are a few characters that are so bad it feels good to hate them, which is always fun (in a book).
It reminded me of Howard's End... the passing of a certain era in England, the passing of the baton to the next generation. Great writing. I can't wait to continue the saga...

“It’s [the Forsyte] wealth and security that makes everything possible; makes your art possible, makes literature, science, and even religion, possible. Without Forsytes, who believe in none of these things, but turn them all to use, where should we be? My dear sir, the Forsytes are the middlemen, the commercials, the pillars of society, the cornerstones of society; everything that is admirable!” (194).

“And those countless Forsytes, who, in the course of innumerable transactions concerned with property of all sorts (from wives to water rights), had occasion for the services of a safe man…” (144).
That sheds quite a light on the title of the first book: A Man of Property. 😅
