Fun reading

Progress when I feel like reading Blackwood.

The Education of Uncle Paul - It's warm and sweet, but also pretty slow and dragging. I gave up on this one. This collection is gigantic and I plan to concentrate only on Blackwood's best work.
The Human Chord - The same as Jimbo - grand idea, good characters (for the most part), but this one should've been a short story too. The first part is good, but the rest is just boring repetition.

Jimbo: A fantasy - Well-written, picturesque and atmospheric. The idea is pretty good too. It would've been a great short story, but the author decided to stretch it into a slow and overly dragged on novel instead. Also, it would've been far more effective if the author hadn't plainly told us what is happening and let us guess about what's real and what's not.

Empty House - Well-written, picturesque and atmospheric. The idea is pretty good too. But there's no reason this shouldn't have been a short story instead of a overly dragged on novel.
