Can y'all believe that I managed to lose a book bigger than my whole head? I honestly can't wait to go back to it but for now it's at the same place than my boy Edward's common sense, lost in the void :(

I genuinely appreciate this book and respect Phillip’s work Edward II but the fact that he seems almost hopeful that Edward was committing incest with his niece and not having sex with another man...Professor...Sir...Seymour...Please...

« Gaveston’s life and death were a tragedy for himself, for his family and for all whom he came into contact, not least the king. » yes hello I suffer.

Also if you’re trying to prove that Edward and Gaveston were those platonic friendly bros, maybe don’t quote someone comparing them to Achilles and Patroclus, that’s really not helping with the no homo

Look, I’m cool with historians who chose to defend the position that there’s no strong proof that Piers Gaveston or Hugh le Despenser the younger were Edward’s lovers but I’m gonna need them not to refer as Isabella of France and Roger Mortimer as lovers because there’s even less evidence of that.
