Very interesting novel by McCloy. This is listed in some places as part of the Dr Basil Willing series, but it's not. I'm a third of the way through it and I seriously doubt he's going to make a last minute appearance. He would be wildly out of place. It appears to be one of her standalone mysteries/thrillers. It has a noir/hardboiled feel to it. I'm surprised this wasn't made into a movie.
