Status Updates From Star Trek 8

Interesting that Catspaw was much better as a ST:OS episode... so much of the story was illusion and visual and that's very hard to convey in prose.

Oh, immediately remember Enemy within where Kirk is split by Transporter... that's good too. All are at least fun episodes.

I'm vague on its plot

(McCoy forgets technique but reattaches Spock's vocal cord) (Spock talks McCoy through Op; how does he know how to reattach his own brain (?)) Whole team beams off planet after telling female leader they'll be OK after rejoining the Men above. QED (All parenthesis are holes in story).

(detect Spock) (use teacher to instruct dim witt leader) (beam aboard) (ask no Qs about alt solutions) (steal Spock's brain) (McCoy rigs robot for Spock's body hoping to find Spock's brain) They happen upon a trace (only clue)... fly to system (guess which planet)... they're right... get restrained but overcome... (Dr McCoy uses teacher; it works; he's dim witt too (?))... McCoy starts operation ...

So happy that Spock Brain was included in Blish's works... this has to be the most stupid concept idea for a story... an Alien race on an already dead/dying planet has segregated into male and female society (w of course the female society being more evolved) And they need an organic brain to power their A/C air handling and power mgmt etc. because (old one failed (?)) And they (scan space) (find enterprise) ...
