Status Updates From Body of Evidence (Bayou #6)

So far I am unimpressed. The book feels extremely dated, with all the women acting like they're from the 1950s. So far our heroin is flighty and irrational, makes dumb impulsive decisions, and isn't smart enough to not tough evidence...multiple times. She's immature, blurts out things, and her mood shifts without notice. The writing style is also lacking, with no insights into the feelings of any characters.
