Once again canon for a reason. Can’t pretend it’s easy to read but I think working through concepts of that magnitude (nationalism, modernity, colonialism, post colonialism, capitalism) might require that at some level (not that it can’t then be translated to be more accessible which this obviously was not). Anyway will be thinking about it a lot forever

This is an incredibly dense read complicated with, for me, very opaque language. I'm going to stop for a while and read something related but more accessible - Asia as Method - and then come back to this when my brain is back in proper critical reading mode.
