The screaming of the juramentado Moros was successful in disheartening the American soldiers even if they had superior firepower than their kris swords. Now I understand why shouting in martial art is so important. It will not only give the offenser a greater force but also has a great negative impact with the defender.

The author is somewhat hostile when using adjectives to describe Spanish forces but when it comes to American officers, they were highly romanticized by the author, like these bastards were some kind of heroes to be glorified. Pwe!

The revised agreement between US authorities and the Moros indicated payments in Mexican dollars. I didn't know Mexico's currency was in dollar during that time. I thought it's in pesos like the Philippines since both countries were under Spanish colonial rule.
