Lags a bit through the middle.
The effect of this story is losing a bit of steam to me. Not as fun as the beginning, and lacking as much tension. Thankfully, a certain witch is becoming more prominent. But i'm not certain if I trust the narrative to make full use of her. It's still fast paced, still a classic Haggard adventure. But I want a big turn soon. I need a Triumph level chapter, lol.

I'm liking this so far.
This and a couple of William Morris's early works are the books I've added to the Challenge TBR recently. I'm listening to this as well as reading House of the Wolfings, and so far, this mythically told historical fantasy is more engaging. I expected it would be, since it's Haggard, but I am still surprised by his range in this one. Action adventure, but of mythic proportions.
