Status Updates From Strangers at Collins House ...

Ooh. There’s a ghostly mystery appearing. I like this one so far.

Going to give book 3 in the Dark Shadows series a try. Listening on audio

OMG they've called in a psychic to touch their ancestors' stuff to see if the family fortune is based on the slave trade. Which has nothing to do with the plot up to this point. Like, weird.

Again, I love that there are original characters in these books that foreshadow other characters and plotlines that would later appear in the series.

Books written/released pre-Barnabas appearing on the show were reissued with him on the cover to boost sales, even though he's not in them. I have to wonder if the author knew Barnabas was in the works when this was written. The character of Henry Collins seems to foreshadow him. A very old man with a silver-headed cane. Liz wondering what it must be like to be so very old that people and places exist only in memory.

Seriously, these books are better than they deserve to be. They go down easy and are entertaining.
