Status Updates From Siddhartha

An absolutely exquisite book so far. I’ve loved the clarity of the prose, without getting bogged down in complex thoughts. The translation really conveys the philosophical discussions and points so sublimely. Looking forward to picking up part 2.

“The Ferryman” almost had me shed a tear on the metro north

A spiritual awakening blending western questions with eastern philosophy in a cute story. A charming appeal beyond gratuity which I embellish so far. Siddhartha is a fun character seeking friendship, clarity and support meeting Buddha to find answers. None seem to be offered so far though. Awaiting the payoff. Hopefully should be good. Cute story though nothing special so far.

I really like this book

weird backdoor into justifying his abandonment of the self in order to discover the Om at the peak of his discontentment with a material life. i got a little lost at the more protractive introspections so note to self reread this section WITH PENCIL

Tot nu toe nog niet leuk

Certainly an inspirational book but perhaps I’m reading this at the wrong time I feel catatonic, nihilistic and apathetic so reading something the opposite feels wrong, I can’t help but feel if I was at a happier stage in my life I’d appreciate it more

This book is kinda gay

Man discovers that materialism, hedonism, and gambling are not actually fulfilling lifestyles
In all seriousness, essentially he meets a woman, learns the mysteries of the life he never got to experience. After indulging, he eventually falls into the vices of man. He spirals downwards until realizing how far he's fallen, considering suicide, and then "restarts" again, wanting to be a child. Sees Govinda again.

I never realized how interesting paint drying was until I picked up this book

Man speaks in 3rd person (thus annoying me but I digress), discovers that indulging in the human experience is a possibility rather than just following the lifestyle of his forefathers
