Are the motivations behind our actions representative of an unspoken moral code that ultimately represses our true desires? Gide might say so. Is it selfish and reckless to abandon responsibility to follow a path of pleasure, or is it the highest good one can do?

Взялася за книжку, бо прочитала, що її треба читати до пари з «Тісні ворота», які я читала в липні. Ця мені подобається більше, але якось довго автор підходить до «імморальності». Ну і захоплення гг красивими хлопчиками насторожує.
