Goodwins recounting of the Republican National Convention that nominated Lincoln, the general election, and the assembly of his cabinet was legit binge-worthy. Lincoln is playing 4D chess, Seward is still that dude, and while character has surely deteriorated, it seems that the ego of politicians remains constant through time.
