Pretty good so far but it starts on the morning of the disaster so there’s not a lot of table setting for when shit starts going down

It was in my Audible library so I'm listening to it while working, so I may as well log it (even though I'm not really paying attention).

We are finally on the descent (I am reading this aloud to my partner) and it’s very good if a little flowery at times… sounds horrible tho who wants to risk your life like this!!!! Terrifying

Whenever I get into a depression induced reading slump, all I can manage to read is books about mountaineering disasters. Don't ask me why. I have no answers.

Time for another mountain climbing disaster book! I'm no mountain climber, but I love reading about those who dare.

Enjoyable read so far, though the author's inexperience when it comes to mountaineering etc is noticeable. Nonetheless, so far so good! K2 has always fascinated me.

So spannend, aber nun bin ich müde. Morgen (wenn ich geschlafen habe) geht's atemlos weiter.

Includes some of the history of k2. It focuses on the tragedy in 2008. I am fascinated about what happens to the human mind in the 'death zone', with or without supplemental o2. K2 is a more technical mountain than Everest so taxes o2 starved humans more. From a psychological perspective I find the decisions that are made under hypoxia to be intriguing but also in comparison to nature, we are nothing.

A pretty good read. Not sure why all these people want to climb mountains and die.

Graham Bowley is no Jon Krakauer, but this book is still pretty riveting, albeit not terribly well-written.

About 30-40 yards to his right, a screaming body flew past, sliding over the ice, headlamp still burning... then into the dark void of the night!

Amazing reading the resolve of the climbers, even after two deaths - they continued climbing...!
