Mehhhh this Edward guy sucks as a love interest. So bored by this book it couldn’t even put me to sleep

The fact that she used the word “woolgathering” is astounding to me. I like it. What sort of high schooler would use that word? No wonder I didn’t enjoy the one movie I saw. There’s so much more going on in the book.

Still not enough of Alice and Jasper. But also, Jasper and Bella.

I hate how quick that ending was.
All these cliffhangers for these side characters. Such a shame and a waste not to get their stories too.
And not enough time spent of B and E right at the end when she finally let him in her mind.

Also only just now realizing I’m doing these notes in the wrong book” on goodreads.

I guess bc the photo cover/illustration is the same as the one in my digital library. Mine is books 1-4 but this one is 1-3.

I’m almost done with BD anyways.
Plus this has been a rereading experience for all four books.

Sometime last night, I paused around this point of the story. Chapter 27. Travel Plans.

I will def have to just rewind and go back to the beginning to reread B’s transformation. It’s just that good.

I still maintain that little chunk of a scene(and every scene of her new vamp self) shines so much brighter against every other part of this saga so far, and so forth.

Doubt anything will be as satisfying now

I feel like I’d want to come back and reread just this scene once and a while.

I’d thought the movies were such a dramatic representation of the books, but I forget how detailed the actual book events are. Truly horror movie stuff. Def worse than movie scene when she “went into labor”

I forgot, or didn’t realize “book two” of breaking dawn will be in Jacob’s pov…???? Ughhhh I don’t want to read this shit in his pov.

I just hope it’s not long. And then it can pick up right where book one left off.

And suddenly realizing that I’m in the mood for wolf shifter mate romance type of book now. At the very least to get over this B and Jacob nonsense. So depressing

Also bugging me is I vaguely remember a scene where he leaves and randomly meets a stranger, pretty girl that knows cars or something. Ugh makes me feel weird

I think the lore/imprinting rules of the world in these books, are acceptable. Bc it’s fiction. It’s a story, with fictional characters and fictional problems.

Which I why I can accept the fact that like Quil, Jacob will be whatever Nessie(I can’t even spell her full name right) needs.
That’s all well and fine.

What isn’t fine, is first B asks Jacob to kiss her.
Her future son in law .

^ I recall agreeing whole heartedly when I read more than a few reviews that said E & B’s love story is not as good as the others I mentioned.

Idr if I rated any books in this saga four stars or more.
New moon was three flat stars. Eclipse is turning out to be the same, maybe even less so.

But, the low ratings are MAINLY bc of how much I hate B and her shit.

The saving grace is the love. & the Cullens.

It’s funny(not) how I hated E in new moon, but hate B in eclipse.
She’s just so stupid.

All I want are the stories of Carlisle & Esme, Rosalie & Emmett, Alice & Jasper. That’s all I care about.
If I think on it too much, I will truly hate B. There’s only so many handfuls of good moments in this long ass saga

Not loving the way some things are written in these books

Idk how to describe it, or what it’s called.

When the characters in the book are having a flashback, but at the same time narrating the story to another character, dialogue and all. It’s fucking weird and so damn off putting to read.

What’s with this fucking author & calling native Americans/the Quilettes Indians????

This is the second or third time it’s happened in this saga
One little detail that just sticks out like a sore racist POS thumb.

It’s fucking annoying. And the fact that I’m told this author is a Mormon who def shat her ideals & religion into these books. YA BOOKS ABOUT VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES

I’m only here for eclipse to be filled with more Alice and jasper moments and insights.

I think it took me LITERALLY all friggin day to finish NM.

Finally. New moon is over. Tbh I think it was shorter ? (Or maybe not… since I reread twilight, and then midnight sun, and then new moon…midnight sun was entirely too drawn out and long winded.

This rereading experience is after idk how many years so my memory is fuzzy
But also due to the fact that it’s new moon and hands down the most depressing of the entire saga I think.

Rn B is on her bathroom floor sick, and I can’t help but wonder what E would do if he knew.. (will he ever learn of all the shit he made her suffer through?)
i hated him since the end of midnight sun and this book.

I really have to object to the idea that lasagna would be an appropriate, if not better option then pizza.

Bc they’re both equally meh. And basically the fucking same thing. Carby and full of tomatoes. Yuck.

More than that though, I’m noticing more than a few grammatical errors/lack of editing. It’s quite frankly annoying as fuck.

Also wanted to note that rereading these feels familiar of course, but also not. In a surprisingly pleasant enough way. As in, better than I remembered…if I force myself to ignore the annoying details I very much dislike.

Also have the urge to discover a new vampire series to fall in

- this author referring to the Quilettes as “Indian reservation” ugh.
- rereading this again makes me upset over how lacking the movies were. And also how much I dislike the author.
- strangely enough, even after reading and then watching, and rereading, the characters look diff in my mind when I picture them.
- annoyed there aren’t more books for all the other side characters’ stories.
