Mandatory reading. Inspired me to set off from my house on foot to the north of Scotland, to see how far I can get across those wee islands at the tip, before death's inevitable embrace.

Crows or buzzards in pretty much every little chapter; apocalyptic dreams, portents everywhere. It's a little book but it takes a lot of concentration.
