Alright, 'The Sea Thing'! Wow, I really loved this short story by A.E van Vogt. The story is third omniscient, but it's deep POV and the bulk of the story is in the Shark God's POV. The only part I'd have changed is the ending. The Shark God is the protagonist and his quest for vengeance is absolutely justified. They're killing his people!

Okay, I just finished 'Second Night Out' by Frank Belknap Long and all I can say is WOOOW. While the other stories in this collection are creepy/eerie, Long's story is the first one that is legitimately terrifying. The descriptions of the 'black, dead thing' that come on-board the second night of the voyage every trip, how it moves like an eel....how the protagonist feels something has pressed onto his brain...wow
