Koichi's mother cares about him. When she was attacked by Kobayashi's stand and filled with heavy guilt, she begins believing that Koichi stabbed him. Koichi uses his own stand to project a message onto her, begging her to believe him. When she hears this, she says to herself, "I'm his mother! If I don't believe in him... then who will?" (Araki 98). Her love for Koichi shines through the guilt Kobayashi put on her.
