so far this book is so helpful in providing a non-Western perspective on world events. i really appreciate the historical depth of Islam provided in the early chapters. can’t wait to keep reading!

i am STOKED about this book and how much history i’ve already learned that we simply skipped over - i.e. how the heck did we get from mesopotamia to iraq?? we are taught so much of this for the west but never for this region and i’m excited
