As this book winds down, it's odd to recall that I went to school for years with Mt. Cashel orphans in each class during the 1970s (always the same children, plus or minus one or two in each grade), and that two of the Christian Brothers later charged with abuse were teachers at the same school. Like others, I was lucky not to be in their homerooms. So many corrupt people in government departments and the police too.
