Chapter 2 is a bit of a crash course. More useful than Chapter 1, and though I learned some... not much. But have a feeling that's about to change.

Ch. 1 in the bag - and a good intro to the language's underpinnings, motivations, etc. The remark about Java "[acting] like more dynamic languages" came as a surprise, but I guess you couldn't have Groovy or Clojure or JRuby etc. w/o that. So far so good.
