Status Updates From Learning Java

Oh golly XML. Even the chapter is verbose.

Don't feel all that enlightened by the chapter on bean architecture. (Seems like a tautology to me.) Going to skip applets and do my best to power through on XML.

Wrapped up servlets; skipping all that Swing junk.

Set let's & JSPs — been waiting for this.

Learning quite a bit about RMI (though the knowledge isn't much useful outside Java). Most interesting tidbit so far: that when brokering in RMI, you are literally getting back a reference to an object on that remote host. (Also: what separates it from DTOs, and what DTOs even are in this sense.)

Wrapping up info on Java object serialization; moving on to RMI.

Diving into java.io

Getting into it with collections and maps.
