Status Updates From Saving Maddie

"All I knew was that I had done what I was supposed to do. I had tried. For Madeline's sake, I prayed that would be enough."

"I think your exact words were, 'You have the most beautiful, grandiose, gargantuan breasts I have ever seen.'"

"Fine. Let's get drunk."

"My mouth dropped as I stared at myself in the mirror. I did look like I had been attacked by crayons. Purple, lip shaped crayons."

"Different interest-that was a mild way of putting it."

"- Did Madeline have someone who worried about her as much as my mother worried about me?"

"I had no doubt that Madeline Smith needed saving. I just wasn't quite sure if I was interested in being her savior."

The writing still makes me want to yell out loud, but pretty decent so far.

So it got a little bit better. The female protagonist's character is actually really interesting, but I just hated the way Johnson executed her. She's got so much dimension, and she just needs the right angle to be seen.

This makes me want to slam my head against a wall and scratch my nails on chalkboards. What is this atrocity?! Hanging in there just because I think the plot has a hope, but my goodness, this needs a LOT of saving.

Got the digital copy of this on a whim. Religion, romance and young adult is an interesting combination. Let's hope this pays off.
