I like the book. The portrayal of the New York frontier is riveting, and although the portrayal of Native Americans is archaic in this book, Cooper’s depiction of their culturally collected and stoic disposition is intriguing to read.

The English have surrendered and are leaving the fort. The French and the Hurons watch. The neurons are disappointed. They have achieved peace, but have not any scalp to so they earned it as the English leave the fort they attack the stragglers producing a “crimson Tide“
