I feel like I have to finish this tonight. It's obvious Pedrek didn't do what he's accused of. My theory is either Oliver or Jean-Pascal blackmailed Belinda. Not too many pages left for a whole lot of truth beyond that to come out. I didn't miss the clue from the last book either in the words Belinda chose to use ... Nice tie back.

Jean Pascal is so sleazy. But I'm just over here waiting for the axe to fall on Rebecca's happiness. I can't believe no one in the family has thought to tell her stepfather about her and Pedrek. They're out here telling everybody else though. Do they think her stepdad just magically won't find out despite being a freaking Parliament Member? He's gonna be piiiiiiiissed

I'm so eager to get to the big secret (which is obvious to all but the characters, anyway). I really want to know what the fallout will be.

Yeah, this one is WAY better than its predecessor. Instead of dragging some old bullshit out over a whole book, Carr is serving up the shocking drama left and right. I like it even though I can see pretty plainly what's happening here with one of the main storylines (and know some other things that will happen thanks to me accidentally spoiling them for myself).

I already think this one is a lot better than the previous. I mean, I could do without all the recap about what happened in the last book, but I was expecting that. I don't expect these books to be amazing, just fun to read (even if I'm bitching at them I'm still having fun), but I was worried they were losing a lot of steam after the awesomeness that was Knave of Hearts / Zipporah's Daughter!

Uh ... She changed Matthew Hume's name to Martin Hume for some reason. I thought it was just an editing error but then it repeated.

Sounds like this book is all about the impact of Angelet's dumb decisions in the previous book
