Just because your family is into science doesn't mean you will too. Example from this book Tyce's mom believes in God but he did not until like the end of book 1. Real life examples parents going I love reading but my kids don't. Or I loved school but my kid doesn't want to go. Etc.

OK the kids talking about God seems natural cuz Tyce said he was praying and why, telescope thinking about the universe and then Ashley agrees with him and adds her take to what he said. Natural conversation.

Ugh. Tomboy. Ashley is a girl but without her smile she's a tomboy?! We just met her so we don't know her hobbies or anything. Her short hair is probably because she was going to Mars where they only shower twice a month and use evaporating soap the rest of the time. And convenience cuz everyone on Mars has some kind of job cuz beginning stages
