Published in 1976, still pretty timely:
“The destructive leader, and the eagerness of a large segment of the population to identify with him, compromise one of the central threats—if not the greatest threat—that faces human society.”

Vacation has allowed me to devote myself fully to this book. I have so much time now that I may even be able to finish this book before I go back to work.
The previous chapters were great. They consisted of: a short chapter on Lawrence's retirement and death, a chapter on his sexuality, and a final chapter that was an overall summary of his character.
The book is pretty much over, but I still read on.

I wonder what Lawrence's views on communism were considering that he told Churchill a few chapters ago that he thought that Lenin was a great man and he tried to get Trotsky asylum in the UK in this chapter. Something to research in the future.
Also, I'm surprised that Lawrence didn't like I, Claudius, a book that I very much enjoy. Too bad the book doesn't provide much detail on why he didn't like the book.
